Dear Mrs. Harty
We've studied the pages on the internet in which you present your,
the State Department's, activities to win the good opinion of public outside the United States.
In our opinion, only a handful, or less, of the world's governments make a comparable effort.
We have been searching around to establish the exact number of Americans who died as a consequence of the tsunami 2004. After trying to get help from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Center for Disease Control - Division of Vital Statistics (CDC-INFO) and from The Center for International Disaster Information (CIDI), we have been directed to your office for the official data.
We would be interested to have the complete, final, total and official number of dead and, if possible, also of the injured American citizens. We would be particulary grateful if you could also put at our disposal the American victims' list, giving full names.
As an international action group and tsunami victims' organization we have an understable interest in these indications as it is our aim to publish the official tsunami victims' data and to get in touch with the worldwide community of all those who have suffered and are still affected by the catastrophe.
I hope we can convince you to have sympathies for our endeavors and to support us.
Yours sincerely,
Jerzy Chojnowski
