What is a Tsunami?
Tsunami
is a Japanese word that translates as 'harbour wave'. Tsunami are
usually associated with earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides,
which can cause a sudden movement of the water column in the ocean, and
create fast-moving waves. A tsunami is a series of waves, and can cause
inundation and destruction when it hits land.
